Photography has been a part of my life since I was a child; I would spend many an hour looking through the family photo album which of course led to the act of taking the photographs when I was old enough to use the camera. The camera became a constant companion as I grew and a means of capturing my friends, family and all those precious memories of life.As my passion for photography grew and matured, I was compelled to follow my heart in college and earned a bachelor of fine arts in Photography and a master of arts in Art History, specializing in the history of photography. I was awarded an undergraduate scholarship on the merit of my work and chosen for publication by the College Fine Arts Journal of student photography and creative writing. My work is in private collections and the collection at the Center for Creative Photography, Tucson AZ. The academic journey was magical and filled with artistic learning, exploration and the inspiration of meeting many a famous fine art photographer.
Although I was diverted to a successful career in health care, I have maintained my connection to photography; the camera is still my constant companion and the way I see the world around me! When the digital revolution produced an affordable DSLR, my passion for photography moved to a higher level once again. Since then, I have earned several awards and my work has been published in magazines and brochures.
The main focus of my work is the natural world; landscape in expansive vista and intimate detail which is driven by my love of and respect for the great outdoors. I am also a people person who finds much joy capturing the beauty of the individual and of human relationships through portraiture and event photography. Though these are my favored subjects, almost any compelling sight or subject is within the scope of my lens!
